As a small business, the safety of our customers and employees is our top priority. We all need to stay healthy to carry on our services in a manner that is safe and responsible to our community. In the past 3 weeks, we have experienced a drastic change in the way our society functions in response to the growing COVID-19 pandemic. Initially, medical experts and government officials were emphasizing that the public exercise social distancing and good hygiene i.e. proper hand washing, avoid touching your face. These guidelines took a major shift when the governor of Maryland issued a stay-at-home order on April 30. This has been further reinforced by federal guidelines for distancing. On April 30, Gov. Hogan directed that "businesses must make every effort to scale down their operations in order to reduce the number of required staff [and] to limit interactions with customers". It is now more imperative than ever that we do everything possible to minimize the danger this pandemic poses to our community.

As we continue to offer our services during this time of social distancing, we will continue to implement the following procedures for our employees and how we provide you with service:

  • we will refrain from handshakes or close contact with customers. You may see us tip our hat, or hand on the heart. We are trying to set a good example, while also minimizing risk to both our customers and employees

  • employees will be constantly washing their hands throughout the day

  • our employees who show signs of illness will stay home

  • we may ask if customers or anyone at home is showing signs of illness. We want to make sure we take the necessary precautions to keep our employees safe. We need them healthy so we can continue to serve you

In addition, as a result of stricter guidelines, directives from government and our continuing effort to maintain the health of our employees, we will be making some changes to our service offering effective immediately:

  • general maintenance, accessory installation (such as humidifiers, dehumidiifers, thermostats), cleanings, ductwork modifications and any work not considered critical for the continuing operation of HVAC equipment will be suspended until further notice

Minimizing the impact this disease has on our society will take an effort by all of us. From washing our hands, to adjusting our habits and minimizing social gathering, to maintaining clean facilities. Individuals, families, businesses and governments share a common responsibility in doing our part to educate ourselves, supporting each other, and staying healthy. While more challenges may lay ahead, with the summer approaching, our end goal is to find constructive solutions to continue providing honest and reliable service to our community in the safest and most responsible way possible. Everyone is going to need help in the coming weeks, and while we are a business for profit, we will continuously look for ways we can help our community.
